Two new books for October!

Kotting2

We are pleased to announce two exciting books to be published in October: Operation Underworld by Paddy Kelly (3rd October 09) and Babble and Squeak by Mark Kotting (31st October 09).

Legend Press signed up Babble and Squeak by Mark Kotting after being introduced to his writing through the short story Mark wrote for our 4th short story collection 8 Rooms published in April 2009. The novel is a dark, quirky and hilarious novel about a fish and chip man called Joe. As well as being a London cabbie, Mark has written several plays for BBC Radio 3 and 5. His debut novel Nappy Rash was published by Wrecking Ball Press and was described by comedian Sean Lock as ‘bleak, funny and poetic.

Operation Underworld by Paddy Kelly is a novel, covering a unique aspect of the American underworld at the time of World War One, including the navy, CIA and high profile gangsters working in conjunction for national security. Paddy is a successful professional writer with a strong online following.

Bill Coles Oct 07 Bill's time on the plinth is now available to watch on the Antony Gormley website The One and Other. To view the video click here! You may even get a sneaky glimpse of Lauren, Tom and I as well walking round.

The event was a fantastic success and it was great to get word of the book out there to so many people in such a short space of time. The accompanying website www.lordlucan.org has had record views as a result!

Lucan spotted on the plinth!

P1010415 If you were around Trafalgar Square yesterday at 4:00pm, you would have spotted Lord Lucan himself!

Ok so it was actually William Coles, but he was bearing a striking resemblence to Lord Lucan.

Up there for an hour, the crowds were gathering as Bill certainly managed to get them talking about 'Lucky' Lord Lucan, who disappeared in 1973.

700 leaflets were handed out during that hour, detailing Bill's website, www.lordlucan.org and a bit about the book itself.

With billboards stating 'Lord Lucan, Plinth of Darkneth' and 'Here's Lucan at you, kid!', Bill certainly managed to put on a great show!
