We are delighted to announce the acquisition of ‘SILENCE’ by Josie Henley-Einion, the latest novel added to our rapidly-growing list. The author was signed-up having written two exceptional short stories for our ‘Short Story Reinvented’ series. With high media interest, SILENCE is to be pushed through to launch 26th July.
SILENCE is a hard-hitting and topical novel portraying Jackie Harris, prison counsellor and ex-drag king, who kills her female lover's rapist in what she insists is self-defence. The powerfully-written and originally-styled novel is an examination of sexual violence and its repercussions and questions the right of the media to scrutinise and pronounce judgement on a person’s individual life choices.
We knew we had uncovered a rare writing talent in Josie through our short story series. She was immediately keen for us to look at her completed novel, and now we can see why – it a stunning, stylish and unique novel that we expect to take the book market by storm. It's also so relevant and timely for the current reading public and society that we simply had to bring it forward to a July launch.
Josie - can't wait to work on this and it should be a very exciting, and hopefully successful, few months ahead!

Candi – It’s my upbringing – I can’t be seen to agree with someone singing my praises, even I’m not that arrogant! Self-depreciation was never my forte, but I do find such high praise difficult to deal with. And anything that I find difficult I make a joke out of. I’m very pleased with the press release, in fact I’ve printed several thousand copies and been handing them out on street corners (not).
Emma – what can I say? Shucks and thanks.

Yes, congratulations Josie! And just enjoy the praise...you deserve it. Legend Press wouldn't take on an author unless they had incredible talent and were special to work with.

It sounds excellent, even without Mr Effusive's rave. (Don't stop, our Tom - author's crave a pat on the head - they are suspicious of it, but they can't help the jaunty jab evident in their keyboard-pounding, post-praise. Just don't make us too secure or we'll loose the neuroses we treat with our writing habit.)
Good luck with Silence. I look forward to reading it.
