A Big Weekend
A big thank you to Radio One for inviting me to their Big Weekend event in Kent. Had a great day on Saturday and even a rare chance to 'mix with the stars' backstage (this actually involved showing my age and only on getting home and seeing some of the highlights did I keep going, 'Oh, that was them'). But it was a great experience and I took my brother with me (as you will know in the fantastic band Hansom Pilot) who also really enjoyed the day.
Would like to give you a run down of all the bands, artists etc, though these were interspersed with a fair bit of time spent around the bar area (they did have plasma screens...) and also at the drinks hosted by Radio One Controller Andy Parfitt. It was interesting to hear Andy speak about his plans for Radio One and how he saw the future developing with their service focussed on a young market. It was also interesting to hear that I am apparently considered one of the country's 'future opinion formers'. Our thoughts are quite possibly with the country...
Was also great to meet up with a friend from uni I hadn't seen for several years. So all in all, was quite a rare treat, plus fantastic that it was such a sunny day (slight 'farmer's tan' as result). Thanks again to Radio One and I look forward to my backstage Glastonbury tickets (go on, whoever organises it...)
Tom

Tom, does this mean that you can't decide now but will form an opinion in the future? Or are they saying that they think you will influence the opinions of the country. (ooh, a bit scary that!)
