Here is a look at one of Legend Press author Cassandra Parkin's bookshelves. Legend Press are publishing Cassandra's debut novel The Summer We All Ran Away on 1st August 2013.
Cassandra says of her bookshelf:
'This is the windowsill in my downstairs bathroom, which has turned into a sort of impromptu holding-area for books I’ve recently finished and want to read again. I quite like that I’ve accidentally filed 'The Vagina Monologues' right next to 'Kick-Ass' – a coincidence which would probably please neither of the authors concerned. 'Lern Yerself Scouse' was a research tool for my novel 'The Summer We All Ran Away', although hardly any of the Scouse I lerned meself actually appears in the final draft, which is probably a good thing. If you look towards the right you’ll see Letters from Yelena, which is by fellow Legend author Guy Mankowski. It’s haunting, moving and utterly beautiful. If you haven’t read it yet, you’re in for a huge treat when you do.
The lantern is left over from trick-or-treating last Hallowe’en, and the paintbrushes belong to my children. The CD is awful and shaming and I don’t want to talk about it.'
