Here is a look at Legend Press author Guy Mankowski's bookshelf. Guy is the author of The Intimates and Letters from Yelena.
Guy says of his bookshelf:
If you'd have looked at my book shelf this time last year, when I was researching Letters from Yelena, it would have been pretty much all dance text books- with the odd Nureyev biography thrown in for good measure and light relief. In the last few years I've seen a subtle shift in my reading from pure fiction to factual books because the most exciting prospect to me at the moment is absorbing information about a given field and then expressing it through a character as fiction. The idea of taking on someone else's world view inspires me, and it often needs some research to do that. Nonetheless, there are still certain fiction writers who inspire me. It's currently JG Ballards visions of the future, and Willy Russell's brilliant dialogue that I keep returning to. A strange marriage, I will be interested to see where it takes me.
